Eco-Friendly Candlelight Procession: Using Trees Instead of Incense to Fight Dust Pollution

ASW GrowGreen joined in preserving Buddhist traditions on Asalha Puja Day through the “Tree-Circling Ceremony to Reduce Dust Pollution” at Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram Rajwarawiharn and Wat Deeduat.

Replacing incense sticks and candles with trees, the activity combined merit-making with environmental conservation. More than 1,000 trees, including vegetable plants, kale, mahogany, and ironwood, were used in place of incense sticks and candles during the ceremony, helping to reduce particulate matter, minimize waste, and promote green spaces.
